The Denver Area Music Teachers Association (DAMTA) is a local chapter of the Colorado State Music Teachers Association, affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association.

Membership Meeting and Fall Course 2014: Beyond the Noteheads: Alternative Aprroaches to Teaching Composition
David Gottlieb is a composer, promoter, producer and teacher of accessible music for the 21st Century, with over 40 performances of his compositions since 2010. He holds degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the University of Pennsylvania. Drawing on compositional techniques from both the East and West Coast and approaches from as far away as Paris and Brazil, this presentation will explore, new, nontraditional and outside-the-box ways to open your student's imagination to writing new music.
